The UBC thing seems to be sorted out now...the information from the article was through various e-mails, and Martha Piper made an offical statement on the UBC web site about it. And I talked to Lili today, and she's liking UBC much better now. I found out from her more about the admissions process, so that quenched my worries a bit, since I hadn't heard back from UBC (it's been about 7 weeks now).
Midterms are sneaking up on me...and the NBA All-Star Game is on Sunday! Woohoo!
A career in finance seems very appealing. More research is needed. Accounting is more stable, though, especially in Canada.
I just learned today that UBC has been accused of manipulating class sizes at just under the Maclean's university cutoff rates to improve their rankings in the magazine...if this is true, then what the hell? Is a magazine more important than taxpayers and local students? I will be following the story for a while, and if this is, in fact, true, my excitement for UBC will have dampened. A lot.
